Instrument Rating
Once you have your Private
Pilot license, you may find you're limited on certain days by the
weather. Obtaining your Instrument Rating makes your pilot's license
much more versatile. It allows you to fly with lower cloud ceilings
and decreased visibility. If you plan on flying a lot, having your
Instrument Rating will make your license useable much more of the
time.
General Requirements: 1. Hold at least a
private pilot certificate. Flight Requirements: 1. At least 50 hours of cross country flight time as pilot in command (PIC). 2. Minimum of 40 hours of actual or simulated instrument time:
3. A total of 10 hours may be in an approved simulator, if available.
