Certified Flight Instructor One of the most exciting and challenging parts of flying is teaching others. If you have the desire to share your love of flying, and the ability to accurately describe and teach it to others, the becoming a CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) may be for you. Additional ratings beyond CFI are also available, including Multi-Engine Instructor and Instrument Instructor. Call us for details. Our programs will take you through all the necessary steps to get your CFI rating. Our experienced instructors have been through it before, and they know what it takes. If you're ready for the challenge, give us a call. Here's what it takes: General Requirements: 1. Be at least 18 years
of age. Ground/Flight Requirements: There are no minimum FAA requirements for ground or flight time for the flight instructor rating. On a national average, however, students have averaged about 25 hours of ground instruction including classroom instructing techniques and 15 hours of flight instruction. Each individual may require more or less time depending on past experience, knowledge and currency. A background or previous experience in teaching or public speaking is helpful, but not required. |
